Dear Backers,
Just a quick update that we have received the finished manufactured samples of the new Zubits clips. They are testing out great! We love how much easier they are to install and adjust. We’ve already tested them of course as prototypes from rapid prints, but these are the injection molded pieces which are stronger. These are the final pieces. They look great too. Surveys should be sent to all backers this weekend. You will receive an email with instructions to use Backerkit to choose your sizes and colors and give us your mailing address. You will be led through easy to follow instructions on Backerkit. And you will be able to purchase additional Zubits closures or clips at the same time.
Progress update
Unfortunately, we are running behind in our manufacturing process. Our factory is taking longer than in the past for production of the Zubits closures. So instead of a manufacturing completion of Sept. 7th, we are looking at a completion date of Oct. 7th. After manufacturing we still need to package and have the Zubits shipped to the USA. We are dismayed by this delay, but have little recourse. The magnets are already being precision cut into aligning rectangles and squares and set in their “magnetic array”. This is a time consuming and costly process, but it is what multiplies the strength of Zubits magnetic closures. Fake magnetic closures are using cheap pre-cut circular disc magnets and are not set in an “array” so their power is not multiplied.
Samples of the new plastic clips have been made and were sent to me but I’m told they didn’t leave China before the Mid Autumn Festival Holiday. Nevertheless, I should receive them soon via FedEx and hopefully can approve the design. If all looks good, manufacturing of the clips shouldn’t take long at all.
We are sorry that we will probably be shipping to backers about 4 to 5 weeks late. But please know that we will be shipping Zubits to Kickstarter backers before anyone else.

Dear Backers,
What a great campaign! Thanks to the 8,159 backers who supported us! Zubits magnetic lacing solution 2.0 will brighten your day every time you use them.
What happens next?
In about 2 weeks we will send a survey to all backers where you can choose the Zubits closures sizes and colors according to your reward (however many you purchased). We will be using Backerkit to help with the surveys and make sure you get your rewards in the easiest and most accurate way. For those experienced with Kickstarter, you know that using Backerkit is a good thing! Using Backerkit means you will get a link to your personal survey where you can make your choices and give us your shipping information, and even make changes if you wish. You will not need to create a Backerkit account to answer your survey.
Many have asked about purchasing additional Zubits closures. You can “add-on” additional Zubits closures purchases if you wish when you fill out your survey on Backerkit. You can purchase more Zubits closures and extra Zubits securing clips if you wish.
We will send you a heads up email before the survey email goes out that explains everything you will want to know about choosing the right size Zubits for yourself or for others.
Please send us a private message through Kickstarter if you have any questions so we can answer you directly.

Watch out for Fakes, tell your friends
Yes, others have already tried to copy our great idea but fake magnetic shoe closures are of the poorest quality and don't work. Fakes look similar on the outside, but just twist them open and you will see exposed weak disc magnets that aren't strong enough for a child to use! The exposed magnets will also fall out, will scratch and chip, will corrode when wet, and don't include lace securing clips. They simply don't work! Zubits "magnetic array" technology makes our magnets more than twice as strong... Only Zubits magnets strength which is the only way magnetic shoe closures can work. Zubits are patent pending and these copycat fakes will have to disappear when our patents are approved. But this is a long process.

You could also choose to buy more Zubits closures with them or for them and increase your pledge amount. To increase your pledge amount here are the instructions from Kickstarter… “Visit the project page and click the blue “Manage" button that appears next to your pledge amount. Select "Update your pledge" on the following page. Then choose the new reward tier you'd like to pledge for and your pledge amount will update automatically."
Production Update
Zubits manufacturing of the Zubits magnets themselves is already underway. We had to guess on the colors that everyone would choose to get started early. There should be enough colors for everyone in every size unless for some reason you all want orange Zubits! And the new clips are in their final phase of mold design. Here is what that looks like…

Tips & Tricks
Did you know that you can modify Zubits closures in lots of ways. For example, they can be opened or closed with just one hand? This is particularly useful for some people with special needs. If you have any questions about easier ways to use Zubits closures, please head to our website for lots of tips and tricks. At some point we’d like to setup a user page for everyone to share their unique lacing solutions and styles.
